CHARLTON GOLF LEAGUE RULES
The Leagues:
There will be two leagues:
A Winter League running from 1 October to 31 March of the following year.
A Summer League running from 1 April to 30 September.
A separate trophy will be awarded to the player with the most accumulated points in each league.
The following rules will apply to all leagues.
Definitions
Player: a CLGC member who possess a course handicap and is listed in the league table having paid the appropriate entry fee.
League: A collection of players who compete against each other to gain points.
1. Each player shall play every other player in the league once.
2. Matches may be played at the Tuesday social golf meetings, on Saturday competition days when a medal is scheduled, or at any mutually convenient time
3. The form of each game shall be singles, match-play, over 18 holes of the Charlton par-3 golf course using the full handicap difference between the players. The handicaps used shall be those current on the day of the match
4. During a club meeting, a challenge issued by one player to another who is also present MUST be accepted unless the challenged player is already committed to play another member on the same day.
5. Results of matches are to be reported to the committee as soon as they are concluded.
6. The winner of each match shall be awarded 2 points in the league; if the match is halved on the 18th green, each player shall be awarded 1 point.
7. At the end of the league, if 2 or more players have equal points at the head of the league table, the winner will be decided by:
8. New members joining the club, on being awarded handicaps, may only join at the commencement of the next league period
9. If a player withdraws from the league during the season, all matches played by him/her shall become void and points shall be deducted from his opponents in those matches.

- a. If 2 players tie, a match-play round using full handicap difference. Extra holes, starting on the 9th, shall be played in the event of a tie on the 18th green until a result is reached.
- b. If more than 2, a medal round of the Charlton course using full handicaps and employing, if required, count-back rules.
